MetricAid Web Update - Chat Client

Here’s a quick update on the changes that have just launched on the MetricAid web app!

Web Chat Client

We’re bringing the chat experience from our mobile app to desktop with our brand new web chat client!

If any of your sites have chat enabled, you can now open the chat window via the new button in the top bar and chat with your team members:

The chat window open below the new chat button in the MetricAid top bar, between Favourites and the notifications bell. A left column has a New chat button and a list of conversations with Greg Roy and Travis Mazurek, each with a preview of the last message. The open conversation shows earlier messages, including a shared photo of a waterfall, and a Hello! sent today marked Read, with a message box, an attachment button, and an orange send button at the bottom.

If you’re using our website on your phone, we also have a new mobile web chat view available as well from the mobile menu:

The full-screen chat view on a phone-sized browser, with a back arrow, the title Chat, and a close button across the top. The conversation with Greg Roy shows a shared photo of a waterfall and a Hello! sent today marked Read, above a message box with attachment and send buttons.

If you do not see the chat button in the top bar of the website, or the bottom bar in the mobile app, your sites do not have chat enabled. If you are an administrator and would like to enable chat for any of your sites, please reach out to your MetricAid representative!

Even More Detailed Trade Warnings

We’ve added even more detail to the trade warnings you receive in various parts of the app, including our direct trade proposal flow. All warnings now include the exact amount of time the conflict covers:

The Create a New Direct Trade dialog, showing The Shift I Have (On Call on Aug 30, 2026 for Aaron Abernathy) and The Shift I Want (Night 00:00 - 08:00 on Jul 29, 2026 for Ezra Nolan) either side of a swap arrow. Each shift has a red warning beneath it: Ezra will have a 4 hour shift overlap, and You will have an 8 hour shift overlap.

We’ve also added a new banner indicating when the provider you’ve chosen to trade with has a conflict with the shift you would like to give up:

The Create a New Direct Trade dialog with Ezra Nolan selected as the provider to trade with. A red banner above the shift list reads: Warning: Ezra will have a 4 hour shift overlap with the shift you are giving up. Choose Mid 1200-1600 on Aug 30, 2026 to avoid this conflict. In the list below, the Mid 1200-1600 shift on Jul 10, 2026 has a red warning triangle and a tooltip reading Warning: You will have a 3 hour shift overlap.

If the site has cooldown warnings enabled, we’ve also separated cooldown issues from shift overlaps, with cooldown conflicts now indicated with yellow warnings:

The Create a New Direct Trade dialog with Dominika Lindsay selected as the provider to trade with. A yellow banner above the shift list reads: Warning: Dominika will only have a 4 hour cooldown with the shift you are giving up. Choose Early 0600 - 1500 on Aug 13, 2026 to avoid this conflict. Most shifts in the list carry yellow cooldown warnings and a few carry red overlap warnings; the Night 00:00 - 08:00 shift on Jul 31, 2026 shows a tooltip reading Warning: You will only have a 4 hour cooldown after this shift.

Mobile View For Notifications

We’ve improved the notifications experience when viewing your notifications on the website via a mobile device. It is now a full-screen view like the new chat view:

The full-screen Notifications view on a phone-sized browser, with an Unread only toggle, a Mark all as read link, and a close button. A single unread notification, Time Off Approval Needed, reads Adam Morin's Vacation request (2026-10-01 – 2026-10-09) at Demo: Builder. A Manage notification preferences link sits at the bottom.
